The Hard Question That Rewires Your Life

Back when I was a young man in college, I would sit next to this gorgeous brunette during my Spanish class.
We quickly bonded over our love of travel and Finding Nemo.
Fellas…
I thought she was the one.
So anything she wanted it was done.
Coffees, rides, and bad jokes for days.
But just as I’m asking her out to a date…
I find out she’s entangled with some meathead all along.
Just using me for attention.
I felt like a f*cking simp.
And once I stop serving her requests…
She drops me like a bad connection.
Alone again…
I make the decision to spend my days in total improvement.
6 months or 60 years…
Didn’t matter.
Can’t squander the only life you’re given.
Here’s what I did.

Map your own route.
Most men deny themselves their birthright of being of more than a follower.
Sedating themselves with pixelated dopamine, socially-acceptable toxins, and a biweekly paycheck.
Wake up bro.
There is nothing impressive about being a member of the waking dead.
She knows this.
And is this what you really want anyways?
An existence dedicated to ignoring your potential?
Start from scratch.
Align actions with your vision.
Here’s mine:
A calm mind. A man who’s built his body. Helping others. Location independence. Can dance salsa without embarrassing himself.
Earn your options and freedom.
Yes, it requires sacrifice.
But I would rather work myself to the bone than stay the posterchild of rejection and complacency.
What do you really have left to lose?

Reach the buried gold.
The hardest part of the journey is SEEING the finished product before anyone else does.
Months of being a shadow.
No claps, compliments, or cheers.
Just have faith in yourself.
Show up everyday no matter how you feel and compounding will take care of the future for you.
At the lowest points of my journey I remember considering blaming genetics and giving up.
But I couldn’t bear the thought of others enjoying the life I craved.
Things changed when I started to meditate.
Every night I would sit on a cold wooden floor and evaluate my thoughts.
Once you engrain the belief that discomfort indicates progress...
Nothing can shake you.

To the maximum.
While everyone else is chasing for average…
Take the best.
Ironically, since nobody dares to think highly of themselves…
It’s up for grabs.
People are afraid to reach their potential.
But as long as you do the self work…
You will.
So what’s the hard question?
Simple.
